THe Plate this Year Is a Very Intriguing Race where the Storyline is Similar to The Preakness Except You Have 2 Fillies Who Look To Be Better than All the Boys up there, it should be a good race for Canadian Breds

If Tasty Temptation can finally get a trip, she will win the Queen's Plate.

Don't see why this should be any different from the Plate trial....
If I can get 7/2 or better on Eye of the Leopard I'm all in... |

im hoping Mr. Nightlinger gets heavily bet.
This is a unique turf course(outside the main track), and the distance is even a little farther than he has been going. |

Interesting Mike Smith gets a mount and Chantal Sutherland doesn't. He gets the mount on a horse she rode before. Akward.

The race didn't look too particularily fast to me, I'm not sure we will be hearing alot from these in the future in the U.S, though Eye of The Leopard has a right to improve with abit more experience.
I thought Tasty Temptation had another tough trip today, though she is not as good as I probably thought she was, I'm sure trackus will validate she ran further than any other horse today. The Jockey who I thought was pretty good, has been very mediocre of late despite the 20+ win %. That was a pretty lame ride having her uncovered in the 4 path all the way around... |

I hope Russel Baze has a good time touring Toronto while he is there.

But this situation is so obvious that you don't need an exact number to appreciate how badly this filly has been abused her last two efforts. Go to calracing.com, and fire up the HEADON replays for her last two races. She's widest on the 1st turn last out, widest on the backstretch WITHOUT COVER, and outside the winner on the 2nd turn. It wouldn't be a stretch to project her as the winner yesterday with a comparable trip to that of the winner (who didn't exactly get the best one, either). What I fail to comprehend is WHY her connections continue to allow Husbands to abuse her this way. Perhaps they're bought into the wise tale that she needs to run outside of horses. (This one is particularly hard for old time race trackers and even trip handicappers to let go of.) But, this isn't the dirt and it seems that the WO jockeys all ride that way. (Check out Beckon breaking down Oliver's Strike earlier in the week with a similar trip as an example. Too bad Husbands walked away from that one.) In any event, I doubt she'll make it through the summer. And these idiots have lost two huge purses, and some nice prestige, in the interim. And they're senselessly beating on a filly that does nothing but run her heart out for them. What a ****in joke. But this is a decidedly TRAKUS UNFRIENDLY forum, so keep all this on the sly. |
