Palin is deep in debt, alot from the ethics violation charges. I wouldn't doubt she quit just so she could go on tour and promote the book she has coming out.

for the life of me i could never figure out her appeal to conservatives. if you're a republican, imagine how you'd feel about democrats getting all giddy over paula abdul as a serious spokesperson for their idea's.

it's been a weird delight. and i'll miss her for the easy comedy. but it'll be nice to see those folks taking it seriously at last.

tell me, just how much she was fined? Link please? Also I find it facinating that only dems seem interested in keeping Palin in the spotligt while zero percent of repubs consider her any type of spokeswoman as demonstrated by recent polls.

Instead of resigning without a real reason she should have had an affair with one of the Ice Road Truckers.

That is the politically correct way to exit office these days.

But Del I think you have it right - majority of REP's don't really support her, but the DEM's seem to want to keep the discussion alive....

Do you mean republicans in office or do you mean republican voters?

It certainly seems divided to me. She definitely has her share of supporters within the party.

Of course Dems want to keep her in the spotlight. You are wrong though that Dems are the only ones. Look at the poll I posted earlier, it is a three way dead heat right now for the Republican nomination and she's right in the thick of things. Yes, only 1% or less consider her the spokeswoman of the party but that is meaningless in terms of getting elected since 52% identified nobody as the speaker of the Republican party and of the top five (Rush, Cheney, McCain, Gingrich, and Bush) only one may be running for the Presidency. And Bush was at 3% so that means anyone else that will be running for the Presidency (aside from Newt) isn't viewed as the spokesperson for the party either.

At the end of this article it says she's racked up over $500,000 in legal fees.

Link? Palin talking in her resignation speech. She's half a million in personal debt - not from fines - from fighting the charges.

This woman is not very bright, has little to no understanding of national issues, hasn't done diddley in Alaska or Wasilla, plays politics like a jealous junior-high school girl, and quits when she's unhappy. And can't string a coherent sentence together.

Her perfect fit: financially, mentally, capability, ego-wise - is a show on Fox News, rousing up the rabble. And promoting her book <g>

we've gone through this before but I missed seeing Palin in this poll for spokesman of the Republican party.

You're right she is no Jimmy Carter and doesn't have that deep understanding of the mid east like he does that leads to the conclusion Israel is 'the worse perpetrator of human right violations on the planet worse even than Rwanda. Guess I missed the Palestinians running around with lit gasoline tires around their necks and families being killed w/machetes

Asked if he was referring to Al Franken as the clown from Minnesota, Inhofe confirmed he was.

“I didn’t mean to be disrespectful. I don’t know the guy, but … for a living he is a clown,’’ the senator said.

Man Dell..now you are using Inhofe in your sig line? What...Jesse Helms wasn't available...
