Default Twinks

Go into the bottom of the 8th behind the A's by 2 runs, and simply overpower them.I haven't seen anybody else do that to the A's once they have the lead in the 7th or 8th.Team is hitting very, very well.Morneau had a huge hit.I wouldn't be looking forward to playing them.Since June 1st,they have the best record of anybody.I thought the A's looked like a very close(together) team, but this team really plays as "one" also.Chisox now need to win to keep pace with the Twinks n' Tigers.Halos ahead by 2 in the top of the 5th.Doubt they can hold that against a desperate Chisox team.Halos choking huge every time they have a chance to cut the deficit to 4 1/2.

I'm proud of my Twins this year, they've been amazing...if they get their pitching rotation back intact, look out!

Halos finally win one against Chicago in Anaheim.Halo pitchers are so very game.Really is sad that the offense struggles so much. They are really gunna have to get some hitting in the off season to get anywhere.Halo starting pitchers have been very strong in September. Not supported much at all.

Somer,
Your Twins? Didn't know you were a fan... nice to know I'm not alone.

Scuds,
It's crazy the way the Twins in the 7th and 8th inning all year just overpower teams. Joe Nathan might be the best closer in baseball, but he doesn't have a lot of saves because of their late inning productivity. He didn't have a lot early, because they sucked so bad. But when they started this run in late June/early July, he's missed out on save oppourtunities because the game will be close late, and then the Twins will blow it open. So late in games they have been absolutely $$$$...

And the best part yet- LIRIANO IS BACK TOMORROW!!!!!!

The Twins have been decent for about 5 or 6 years now, but this has been the most fun team they have put together since 1991 by far. It's just realy fun to watch. Usually by this time everyone is paying attention to football, and we'll pay attaention to the Twins in October if they make it. This year is different. People (partly because of the close division and wild-card races) are still really focused on baseball. Witht the exception of MNF around here, all eyes are on the Twins right now.

I think that playing in that trash bag dome is a pretty good advantage.I mean the organization has won a couple championships from that place already.Neither of those teams was considered the best team of their year.Nice 3rd baseman, btw.I said a couple weeks ago that Oakland or the A's are gunna win it all.The A's like to play with that same intimidating way that you guys do(the "we will come right back on you like mad roaches" swagger.) They didn't seem to like you guys doing what they usually do to others. As long as that Contreras is pitching well for the Chisox,I can't rule them out. What's with the huge gallon of Milk in that dome?

Wow,love these ticket prices for Twinks games.$41 FOR RIGHT BEHIND THE PLATE.HARD TO BEAT THAT.

2007 Cheap Seats Special ($250 FOR ALL 81 GAMES.)That's $3 a game.Damn.Most places don't even allow you to buy cheap seats on a season ticket.

Liriano looks tremendous thru 2.

Yeah, been a fan since the 1950's....grew up rooting for the franchise (my dad was a fan too!)...after years of bottom-dweling, they build a team and what does the damn owner do? The old days...Jim Lemon, Bobby Allison, Harmon Killebrew, Pedro Ramos, Camillo Pasqual, Rocky Bridges, Earl Battey...fun times!

Scuds I think you are being unrealistic. Being a yanks fan, i watch every game. They are hitting the ball now so good its scary. Its a balance of power and ball slappers now. Noone to pitch around. You pitch around jeter, you get Abreu. You pitch around Abreu then you have to worry about the power of Arod and Giambi. You pitch aournd them and you get Cano and Matsui.
Don't matter who they face, whoever it is they are gonna get slapped around.

Good pitching will stop good hitting! I know because when my team finally made it to the World Series, we walked out to face Don Drysdale and that guy...Koufax! That SOB was one great pitcher and he beat us three times...we had great hitting but the ball was in the catcher's mitt before we got the bat around....game, set, match!!!

Well,I am sure you have seen the 9 losses in the last 12 months that the Halos have put on you. That is a weak hitting little team. How is it they did that? Even with Abreu,Halos took 2 of 3 in Anaheim. You had Matsui and Sheff in the post last year.We will see.I'll take a couple witch pitchers in any series over a bunch of hi- priced mistake hitters. We will see.You gunna have that Juicyfruit Giambi? You must have a gallon tank of cortizone ready to inject that f'd up wrist with in the post.Riviera better not get re-injured like Liriano just did.Your toast if that happens.Mussina can probably pitch with most anything wrong. He is game.I give you that.

Giambi and A Rod, both out to dispell the "myth" that neither will ever be on a World Series Champion.

Oracle, when this Haren guy has it going with that splitter, you're at his mercy.I don't care who is hitting. If he is on,he can beat your team,or any other. The playoffs will come down to who has the pitchers that can be witches in the post.I just don't see much chance of the Yanks having one of those performances, but we will see.

Cheap seats at the Metrodome are REALLY cheap seats though. I think you would actually need binocs out there.

Hehe Slot,
the left field cheap seats that's true, the right field ones aren't so bad. It's short enough that a good leftie with some power can knock them in that upper deck quite often. It used to be really fun when Griffey was a Mariner, because then you could sit up in right field during batting practice, and he'd just hit a million balls up there.

It sucks about Liriano though. I actually thought to myself last night as I was typing in a previous post: "AND LIRIANO IS BACK TOMORROW!" That I might jinx him. It's not really a jinx as much as he or the Twins are rushing. Shut him down for the year now and hope he doesn't become the next Mark Prior or Kerry Wood.
