Default California Flag

Anyone else see his race in Hong Kong? Irish told me to watch this morning and he ran absolutely monsterous again, nose away from 4th after taking all of it on the lead. Kornier really has this horse going good right now.

Was that Guerrero horse in there as a rabbit? Otherwise, that was asinine to do that.

Not at all. Laurel Guerreiro is a multiple G1 winning sprinter in Japan who hopes to run them off their feet - sometimes he does, sometimes he finishes 14th. He had just won the G1 Sprinters Stakes in 1:07.2 for 1200 meters (about 6 furlongs). Where California Flag finished with respect to Laurel Guerreiro suggests the Flag ran a very strong race.

Yea, but how you gunna run California Flag off his feet? He has always had enough turn of foot to quickly answer any stupid move like that. He'll always engage, and then the Romeo n' Juliet is completed.

What makes you think they give a s.hit about California Flag? Maybe the locals over there are saying why did they send that American horse over, he should have known Laurel Guerriero was in the race.

He won the BC. It's supposed to be a big deal throughout the world.

Hong Kong better realize this if it wants to maintain it's independence.

Scuds and I got into some sort of row and I decided he was acting like the Wiz from Seinfeld, so I put that up there to mock him.

Had a YouTube link and everything.

Got to be amused by those supporting the flawed plan that resulted in pain. Their sicko hobby deserves it's own word....Contrarianism! Sick fks need their own organization. Put Indian C. in charge (Thee Contrarian Mogul.)

Did you notice how Cal Flag kept turning his head to the left coming down the stretch. I'm not sure if he does this on the regular basis, but I wonder if maybe he was somewhat confused after making the right turn. He might have thought he was back at Santa Anita for one of those turf sprints and he was looking for the left turn and then the dirt crossover.

I was thinking the same thing... but I think in regards to about 70% of the posts on this board.

Probably. Most horses that race in the US need a lot of training to learn to race a right turn.

I never considered him for the win spot Sunday morning but with all things considered he ran well and wasn't disgraced.

I watched the commentary from the English broadcast team and though they were aware of the California Flag and the BC, it wasn't as big a deal to them as it was over here. And really given the state of American turf horses that have shipped over to Japan and HK why should they care?
