![]() Wow. I guess that's one way out of a gelding.
By the way, how long until Eibar Coa's tack is hanging in Tampa? Seriously, WTF happened to that guy? He was straight up money in NY... |

Doug my point was that he isn't even the top earner at Calder (though tied currently for wins), and he used to own NY Racing. In order to regain a R. Dominguez type stranglehold on the standings like he did on the Inner, it looks like he'd have to move to Tampa because he is really underwhelming in S. Fla., relative to the successes he became accustomed to enjoying From Oct - June in NY and it isn't like it is going to get any easier for him when GP opens. Leading Jockeys at Calder Race Course Starting Date: 10/20/2009 Ending Date: 12/14/2009 - Top 5: Name Starts 1st 2nd 3rd Earnings Manoel R. Cruz 194 48 41 23 $869,925 Eibar Coa 192 48 33 20 $735,961 Luis Saez 194 43 39 25 $597,872 Luis E. Arango 107 20 17 16 $377,334 Abel Lezcano 131 16 17 19 $226,220 Seems crazy that he just walked away from NYRA. He'd be making multiples of those earnings at AQU this winter. |

![]() Cruz had a big day on November 14th at Calder - he won a 200K stake, a 150K stake - and he hit the board in three 3 other six figure stakes.
Coa's setting himself up to have a better GP meet by going to Calder now. He won at over 20% in the fall meet at Belmont. He was on the ropes in the summer ... but the way he's riding lately .. he should be ok. You won't see him at Tampa riding regularly. |
