Lady Alexander is both versatile and consistent
By Doug McCoy OLDSMAR, Fla. - Lady Alexander, beaten a neck when second in the Garland of Roses Handicap at Aqueduct last time out, makes her Tampa Bay Downs debut on Saturday when she tops a field of 14 older fillies and mares in the $65,000 Minaret Stakes. The six-furlong Minaret is the first in a series of stakes for older female runners here. Daniel Centeno has been named aboard Lady Alexander by trainer Bruce Alexander. A multiple stakes winner, Lady Alexander goes for her fifth win from 11 career outings and will carry 122 pounds under the allowance conditions of the race. http://www.drf.com/news/article/109834.html |

Rock Candy, with a positive jockey change, should be sharper for this, I would think, although this field is LOADED.

Bigs, I see our old hanging buddy Pitchnicholas is on the AE list in the 5th
Hard to believe he is 8 years old now. Good to see he is back for another year. |

She looked awfully good opening day. She should be dangerous with a pace to run at. I still like Plesa and Taco Lopez |

Great call Mike. Sucks he was 3-1 and not the 12-1 you were looking for. I can't believe the ML odds maker there had him that far off |

Overheard at the track today.... Exacta Bob, "I'm using the 3" Bigs, "Why?" Exacta Bob, "He fits the criteria" Bigs, "What criteria? This horse is horrible". Exacta Bob, "The beaten by less than 100 lengths combined in his last 3 starts criteria". Bigs, "Oh". |

I can't find anything on the net that says he's suspended, but why wouldn't he be training them? He is at the track every day and has been training at Tampa for years. |
