Maybe you can explain this, but I never understood why the #1 overall seed never plays the winner of the play-in game. Theoretically, wouldn't the winner of that game still be the worst team in the tournament? |

![]() The one thing I did really well this year was place the protected seeds. Had 10 of the 16 in the right pods (and the committee did a really good job of placing them geographically.)
Final results: 64/65 teams 24 exact seeds 56/65 within 1 seed In my honest opinion- Cal and ND were WAY overseeded, and UNI, Tennessee, and SDSU were way underseeded. Thoughts?

I agree on all counts, except maybe SDSU. As for Notre Dame, the committee traditionally gives a ton of weight to Big East tourney runs for some reason (remember in '06 when Syracuse came into MSG out of the tourney, ran the table and ended up with a 5-seed). Georgetown is a little overseeded as a 3 as well IMO. I actually like Cal to beat Louisville, but they didn't deserve an 8. |
