Default Who were you wrong about?

(... or, who completely surprised you)?

I could list so many here but I'd have to say Yawanna Twist. I mean sorry but I was floored. First Dude was a surprise but this guy? I'd have picked him to be last.

Who wants to go next?

I was wrong on everything today. What I'm right about is finding a new venue for the Preakness or at least forcing NBC to only show certain parts of Pimlico. Like a patch of grass between races.

Thought Schoolyard Dreams would have been a part of it... Had no question that Super Saver would bounce and didn't use anywhere.... Didnt fully discount Yawanna Twist but thought the Ill Derby was weak and didn't include in the super off that.

I bet Gomez often in my weekend handicapping angles.

He sure did not seem to do much successfully to put Looking At Lucky in contention in The Santa Anita Derby or The Kentucky Derby.

Bad days, and bad circumstances, I guess.

I'll factor Gomez in my wagers on a future day.

I've read this type of quote too many times (not from you specifically DD, I respect your opinions ) that I have finally decided to completely ignore him...For all of his hype - He hasn't shown for anything... Of course this the type of horse that will bite me in the rear the rest of the year because he will eventually jump up, (like Aikenite) but if there was one horse in the field that was a solid bet against for me it was him.

He cost me also.
I would have been alive to a $2 Pick 4 and P3 with Lucky and a $3 P4 and P3 with first dude.
Only 2 I used in the Dixie.... ran 2nd and 3rd.
Oh well, I don't know how anyone can use Strike the Deal there off a 9 month layoff.

All is well that ends well....I had a $30 Exacta in the Preakness.

First Dude. Had Lucky keyed over 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th and 8th place finishers in the tri. I was sure he'd fade in the stretch. If I would have added a couple more, he still wouldn't have been on my ticket.

I was wrong about Lookin at Lucky and I'll be waiting to bet against him in three weeks if he surfaces.

I dont want to toot my own horn here, or maybe I do but I was actually wrong about nothing. I just want to post a few quotes I made before the race.

Seems like every other horse was just spinning their wheels, except Ice Box who in my opinion should of won the race. He also won his only stakes victory over the same surface months back(horse for the course). Now we have a track where the surface will be a 180 from what he just ran on and a fast track that he has yet to win on this year. The horse is a gamer and has only been out of the money once in seven starts but the talk of him winning "by daylight" and in a "walkover" like most people on here are saying is nonsense. Nice horse but not a world beater by far and will be exposed in this race."
EXPOSED!!!!

"The best bet is Jackson Bend at +105(prop bet against Dublin)" Easy Money

"LAL is by far the most talented horse in the race and it finally comes together for him." Most Talented By Far

"LAL wins by daylight!!!" Well this might be the only thing I was wrong about but not off that far lol

"Although I never like Cali horses coming east and racing on dirt, I believe after his race in the derby and almost being put over the rail, not get totally discouraged and making a run at the end, Looking at Lucky will trump this field with a decent post and finally a clean race."

Not tryin to be a wise guy but I was right on the money and hitting the Triple made my day yesterday!!

You truly are the king of kings...

But seriously, fine work! I remember the original post because I was thinking the same thing about Super Saver. I couldn't get the Tampa Bay Derby out of my head. I left off Super Saver and had Lookin At Lucky, but unfortunately, I grossly overestimated Paddy O'Prado and Dublin yesterday and completely underestimated Jackson Bend and First Dude. So, I made no money.

On the plus side; First Dude - was ready to completely throw him out....until Fly Down won the Withers last week & because Steve B. was so high on him, looked at his PP's and figured he'd be near or on the lead. Never thought he be that high in price though!

On the negative side; Schoolyard Dreams - thought he'd run better than he did, but I guess he's a notch below these "class wise".

I put Lucky & Saver over First Dude and Aikenite.

I think I'm ready to accept that Aikenite is better around one turn.
