Default General Quarters injured in freak accident, may miss Breeders' Cup

I didn't see anything about this, but it happened Monday, and I've gotten a little behind in my ATR this week, so apologies if it's old news.

Definitely out of the Shadwell, might miss the BC. He managed to kick himself after another horse reared and freaked him out.

Of course I am going along and humoring those who think these races actually mean something other than an opportunity to make money.

Hate that for McCarthy. A nice story whether he had a shot or not. I know he cost me the Pick 4 on Derby day.

Bought for $20K; race record 21-4-7-2; earnings $1.14 million. Not bad.

He's always been a favorite of mine despite what anyone has to say about his owner being a cheapskate and a piker.

If you thought he had no chance in the BC, wouldn't you want him in the starting gate taking other people's money?

The horse was crying out because his owner is an a-hole.

GQ has the same shrink that RA has.

I'm not sure that shrink does a great job.

Opinions are like a-holes - everyone's got one.

Yes and no. If he (or any other horse) shuts out a horse I think is a legitimate contender for a piece of the trifecta just because they won a "win and you're in" or have the earnings or stakes wins to get in (or whatever "criteria" they use), I don't want to see them in. But if for some reason (running on poly for example) they can't fill a field anyway then I can deal with it
