Classic - Juvie figure comparison
Here is a chart on how much faster the Classic was in relation to the Juvie on Beyer figures...
The wider the spread ... obviously the more dominant the Classic winner was. Quote:
As you can see - the most dominant Breeders Cup Classic winner in relation to the BC Juvie winner was Pleasantly Perfect (+27) over Action This Day - and A. P. Indy (+27) over Gilded Time. 27 points equals 17.5 lengths at the distance of 9fs. Just in case anyone forgets how bad Action This Day was ... here's a reminder ...  Uncle Mo is only the 4th instance where a BC Juvie winner was able to get within less than 14 points (or 9 lengths at 9fs) of a BC Classic winner. He ran the all-time strongest race by a Juvie Winner in relation to the Classic winner. War Pass was the previous leader at +6. When War Pass won the BC Juvie, future eclipse champion Kodiak Kowboy finished 3rd beaten 16.75 lengths in an 11 horse field. Future Wood Memorial winner Tale of Ekati was 4th by 17.5 Street Sense had a 10 length Breeders Cup Juvie win at Churchill. The surprising one was Stevie Wonderboy. He beat a nice field of 2yo's. Henny Hughes, First Samurai, and Brother Derek ran 2nd, 3rd, and 4th. The weakness of the Breeders Cup Classic that year was probably what amounted for the small gap. Flower Alley was 2nd by a length in that years Classic - and Perfect Drift was a close 3rd ...  PERFECT DRIFT:  Both of them burned up a ton of money after the '05 Classic. The bottom line is this .... there was no sloppy track today like War Pass had ... there was no pace setup/dream trip rail run like Street Sense had ... either Uncle Mo is truly a complete freak ... or we just witnessed a tremendously bad edition of the BC Classic. Most likely, it's probably a whole lot of both.

its actually a waste of time because theres one great horse in the entire list,,,street sense. the rest were all under achievers. so you won't know crap about this horse until next year. the way this breeders cup (juvenile) goes and the way people race their horses. theres bound to be better out there as 3 yo's. its been happening since the BC started.

Uncle Mo is a complete freak. That was a fast group of 2yo's on paper and he toyed with them.
