There are a few differences that may impact this number though..

The full opening of the German labor market on May 1 to workers from eight eastern European Union countries is “a great chance” for Germany to avoid a skilled-worker squeeze, Labor Minister Ursula von der Leyen said in an e-mailed statement today in Berlin. The Labor Agency expects around 100,000 workers per year to take advantage of the new rules, she said.

Importing labor, skilled or not..yeah..that would fly with the paranoid right

Another difference is Germany has an estimated 1 million illegals while we have between 12 and 20 million. Maybe we can export some labor or labour. Import one get 5 free?

"Skilled labor/labour" means my fry cook named Juan is better than your fry cook named Mo.

no argument here.

just kidding.

it's just that angela merkel remains a hero to the american right and obama's a socialist. and she's far to the left of obama. despite technically being the right wing of german politics.

it's confusing.
