What a fun contest, Cajun and Buffy! Thanks!

Okay:

Classic: Sun King, because I had a brief flirtation years ago with a very handsome young man named... Sun King. No kidding. I saw his driver's license. His parents were hippies.

Mile: Free Thinking, because I like to think I am.

Distaff: Lemons Forever, in honor of the only two cars I ever owned. Suited them both.

F/M Turf: Toss up between Film Maker and Ouija Board. I'll pick Film Maker, because of the short film my husband and I just shot. It stars sock puppets.

Juvenile colts: Pegasus Wind. I was a big Greek mythology nerd when I was a kid. Enough so that when I went to see "Clash of the Titans" I complained to my parents that Perseus didn't tame Pegasus; the movie was all wrong!!!

Juvenile Fillies: She's Included. As a kid I was a geek and always felt on the outside, looking in. I'm still a geek, but a more socially adept one.

Sprint: Commentator. Because I have an opinion about everything and I usually verbalize it.

Turf: Scorpion. I love the creepy crawlies.

I think I'm going to send this to my husband and ask him to pick names, too. It's his usual handicapping strategy, anyway.

Hey, C and B, can we repick if our choices don't make it into the race?

You have until 11am (FL time) on Nov. 4th to change your picks. I am printing the picks then and am going with what is there then.

Tell your hubby. I will post my hubby's picks too.

Classic: Sun King
Mile: Ad Valorem
Distaff: Asi Siempre
F/M Turf: My Typhoon
Juvenile: King of the Roxy
Juvenile Fillies: Bel Air Beauty
Sprint: War Front
Turf: T. H. Approval

Oh well, I ended up leaving them as they were. Too big a chicken to change so if I mess up it's not like they were all my actual picks. This is such a fun game.

Classic - Perfect Drift - seems so serene and ambivalent.
Mile - Aragorn - Tolkien fan.
Distaff - Round Pond - Amusingly dull.
F&M T - Dancing Edie - Weakest field of names on the day.
Juv - Pegasus Wind - Just sounds fast.
JuvF - Dreaming of Anna - My cat's name is Anna.
Sprint - Nightmare Affair - I like names that rhyme.
Turf - Better Talk Now - I like names that are commands.

Hey, the cutoff is now going to be 10am on Saturday. Sorry for the bump of an hour, but I have to leave my house at 10 to take my nephew to his baseball game.

SO YOU CAN MAKE CHANGES TO YOUR PICKS UNTIL 10A.M. ON SATURDAY.

Okay, here are my husband's choices-- those of you who have partners, family or friends who like to pick based on names, here's a fun game-- have them make their choices, while at the same time YOU pick who you think they will pick and see how many you get right... I guessed five of eight of my husband's choices. He got two of mine. 'Cause I'm so unpredictable.

Anyway, here are his, with his comments. I picked Film Maker for him, so I'm going to give myself a 5.5 out of 8.

CLASSIC
Lava Man (reminds me of the Molten Man, a Spidey villain)

JUVY FILLIES
Gatorize (ditto for Batman's "Killer Croc")

JUVENILE
Got the Last Laugh (reminds me of, you guessed it, The Joker -- spotting a theme here?)

FILLY & MARE TURF
Honey Ryder (tough call, not choosing Film Maker, but Honey Ryder is a shady Bond Girl, and more in keeping with my theme)

SPRINT
Areyoutalkintome (how could I choose anything else here? True, not a villain, but an anti-hero, which is close enough)

MILE
Super Frolic (sounds like a villainous Porn Star)

DISTAFF
Fleet Indian (not part of the theme, the first role I played in junior high was "Fleet Foot", an Indian in Little Mary Sunshine, although I am of course, a speedy (part) Native American myself - and occasionally mildly nefarious, if not downright villainous...)

TURF
Scorpion (This actually is a Spider-Man villain).

JF- Dreaming of Anna: Kournikova, of course that one never won

JV- Street Sense: everyone needs a little of this

F&M- Ouija Board: last year's BC Picks were worse than if I'd used a Ouija Board

Sprint- Too Much Bling: I'm not into Bling, but I like the way this sounds

Mile- Badge of Silver: Anything "Silver" makes me think of Siver Charm

Distaff- Balletto: Because of the lovely poster on this forum

Turf- Red Rocks: The fabulous ampitheater in the mountains

Classic- Lava Man: My kid is into anything "Lava".

Here are my hubby's picks. He left to go hunting. He didn't write any reasons for his picks though.

Classic: Giacomo

Distaff: Pool Land

Juvy Fillies: Cash Included

Juvy: Great Hunter (did you think he would pick any other horse?)

Mile: Gorella (probably because I talk about her all the time)

Sprint: Siren Lure

Turf: Scorpion

F&M Turf: Honey Ryder (hmmmm... I wonder why he picked this horse?)

Didn't matter anyways as we have a runaway winner in

THUNDER GULCH! (I loved that horse by the way.)

With 4 first place finishes; 2 third place finishes and a 6th and a 7th. YOU EASILY get the title!!! Congrats.
