Default How do you approach a new meet?

With Saratoga and Del Mar opening this week, any tips for handicapping the start of a new meet?

For Del Mar, go buy yourself a dart board and a blindfold.

For most of the first couple of weeks I'm focusing on Turf races and maybe those trainers who were hot coming out of Belmont.

Oh, and watching for signs of the Kasept train to start rolling too.

Not a fan. Formulator, put the time in and follow Serling and Byk.

Default bad faves

focus on the bad faves at the Spa. only 1 in 3 faves win and 1 in 3 are out of the money. Also vary your first end of the pick 4. If BTW and EL JEFE are on the same guy, this might be where to take a rare stand against, for the sake of value. make it a pick 3, but start with only double digit or better hosses in the first leg

Spa meet is a couple weeks longer so sitting out the first week until you get a gauge on what is working isn't going to kill you. If you need action look for Byks value horses on Top or Andy's Tweets that are 5-1 or better.

Del Mar

Don't get caught up in the recent pp's, the surface is so different than HP, and to a greater extent, SA, so they don't have the same correlation regarding performance. There is a greater inefficiency in the pools and opportunity because of this, but its not for the lazy, quick handicapping style.

Saratoga: Watch closely the first week and black book horses likely to come back and win their second race at the end of the meet, when the competition is more a bunch of leftover stuff thrown all together during closing week repeat/2nd chance races.

Please to you... Im to the point where I defer to them for any claiming race. Serling is the goods. I consider myself a MSW, Allowance and Stakes kingpin.

MSW? As in Municipal Solid Waste?

I like the kingpin thing too. I looked up what that means, and one of the definitions sorta fit you, though I think there was a typo...

A main or large bolt in a central position.

I think the 'b' in bolt was supposed to be a 'd'.

For someone who admits that he is a mush and does not bet because he can't get it right, you certainly continue to talk a lot of ****.
Its been a while now, you won't get another response out of me. Don't waste your time.

Being a mush has nothing to do with it.

It has everything to do with you being a POS.
