Creative Cause
Does anyone have any news on Creative Cause? I knew they skipped the Belmont to give him sometime off, but I expected to see him return this time of year. Just making sure I haven't missed something.

I don't have any news on Creative Cause.
But... Handicapperernie, Brilliance, and Luvalab all have threads today. The class of 2012 is finally here. Conrad is going to have trouble sleeping tonight with all of this great new competition for Rookie of the Year. |

You get my vote.
RockTard for the Most Voluminous Putz award. It's a new lifetime achievement award, so congratulations! And, just in case you are ignorant of what Putz means: (n) a stupid, ignorant person; someone who doesn't pay attention to anything going on; one who makes stupid remarks |

I can't find anything except for Mike Harrington saying he'd be back around the end of summer so here's hoping it's soon. I like him too. |

I was out in California on business last fall and drove up to SA the day he won the Norfolk. He's on my list of 3yr olds that I'm keeping up with, but I haven't heard any news since they decided not to run in the Belmont.

perhaps chuck or another trainer can explain why a horse would be kept in light trainng, and exactly what that entails.

He might just be jogging or jogging and slow gallops. He may just be walking under tack or just handwalking in the shed row. Or he may only be training a few day a week. I highly doubt this is the case here, but some trainers may just be keeping the horse under his care because he wants to collect the day rate or is afraid that if he sends it to the farm when the horse recovers they may send it to a different trainer. One of the problems with letting a horse down and sending to the farm is sometimes the issues that they have are more easily managed than trying to bring them back from having zero training where you will have to train them hard to get them back fit. I'm assuming this is probably the case here as he might be trying to give the horse a break while not letting him get completely unfit. There is a fine line with some injuries as sometimes usually because of poor conformation the issue IS going to reemerge even with complete rest so you hate to give up that fitness that you have and keep them moving even if it is just walking under tack and jogging a little. It isnt like when they go to the farm they sit in a hammock on the beach for a few months, they are still on their feet even if it in the stall. |
