Default SAT STAKES: Calder, 'Thorne, More..

With the Breeders' Cup behind us, some less heralded venues are the focus of the action this weekend. Aqueduct has the lone graded stake of consequence today with the Red Smith, but full state bred stakes cards at Calder and Hawthorne should adequately fill up horseplayers' afternoon.

In addition to those venues, we looked at features at Delaware (where Sweetnorthernsaint continues his return to action); Laurel ($100,000 Kattegat's Pride); Mountaineer ($125,000 Mountaineer Mile) and Churchill ($150,000 Commonwealth).

Steve, our buddy Arbuckle Bandit came through, but I couldn't finish the job with Forty Grams for the late Pk 4. Nice going and the beat goes on.
