Default Awesome Feather officially retired

http://www.adenastallions.com/news/?c=3#456

The popular Eclipse Award Champion Awesome Feather has been retired from
racing.

Awesome Feather began her career in the Stanley Gold barn racing in the
colors of her breeder Jacks or Better Farm, Inc. They unveiled their star
on May 1, 2010, Kentucky Derby Day, with a 5 ¾-length victory in a 4 ½
furlong Maiden Special Weight at Calder. From there Awesome Feather rolled
through an unbeaten juvenile season with a victory in the J J’sdream
Stakes followed by a sweep of the three-race Florida Stallion Series for
two-year-old fillies. Her 8 ¼-length triumph in the final leg, the
$365,000 My Dear Girl Stakes, made her the public’s choice in the
$2,000,000 Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies (G1). She rewarded her
supporters with a handy 2 ¼ length victory to secure the Eclipse Award for
Champion Two-Year-Old Filly of 2010.

Two days after her Breeders’ Cup tour de force, Awesome Feather was
purchased by Adena Springs for $2.3 million at the November Sale at
Fasig-Tipton. After recovering from a tendon injury, she returned in
October of 2011 with an easy win in an overnight stakes at Aqueduct for
new owner, Frank Stronach, and new trainer, Chad Brown. That set her up
for her next Grade 1 victory in the Gazelle Stakes over Thanksgiving
weekend. Awesome Feather added two more stakes victories to her resume in
2012, including an emphatic 5 ¾-length win in the rich Sunshine Millions
Distaff at Gulfstream Park. She also earned a 108 Beyer Speed Figure in
her penultimate start, the Nasty Storm Stakes, which she dominated by 11 ¼
lengths.

“Working for Bobby (Frankel) I was around several of the Stronach’s best
runners and Awesome Feather was right up there with the best of them,”
said trainer Chad Brown. “She is a rare horse to overcome a tendon injury,
like she did, and maintain top form. She is truly special.”

A granddaughter of Adena Springs’ top stallion Awesome Again, Awesome
Feather retires with earnings of $1,912,746 and a record of 10 victories
in 11 starts. Her lone loss came in this year’s Breeders’ Cup Ladies’
Classic (G1). She will start her next career at Mr. and Mrs. Stronach’s
Adena Springs Farm in Paris, Kentucky. Breeding plans have not yet been
finalized.

Anabaa's Creations and Rinterval both raced at ages 2, 3, 4, and 5 and both never won a single group or graded stakes race of any kind in their entire career.

Both of them are only known because they were involved in photo finishes against Zenyatta.

Rinterval was 3-for-25 lifetime, After she won a maiden race, her 2nd career win came at Presque Isle Downs -- and it came by disqualification. The horse who crossed the finish line first at PID was placed 6th and she moved up to win. So, ole Rinterval only crossed the wire first twice in her illustrious 25 race career.
