Not a good ending...it was a 99 lap race with a wreck on the last lap, never got to race to the finish. Johnny Sauter won by default

Last lap crash took out my preferred driver. Nice to see a few "little" guys with top 10 finishes.

It was good to see some of the "little" get top ten finishes.

I went to the race today in Las Vegas and I must say I have a new respect for drivers. I had seen races on TV but this was my first time seeing one live. I don't know how Danica does it because it has to take huge balls to do this. I couldn't believe how fast and close the cats were to each other. There is very little room for error. Life on the line every second out there. Crazy stuff. And I thought I knew how to drive. On a side note, it did feel a little weird being the only black person out there. But then again, everyone was so drunk, I think kids included, that probably nobody noticed.

My first intro to NASCAR was at Vegas Motor Speedway too. My reaction was just the same as yours - except for the black part

We did the helicopter ride in. When the race was over the sky looked like Apocalypse Now.

Saw my first pairs of boobs at Dover Downs as a youngster when a few ladies tried bribing one of the security guards to get entry. My dad tried covering my eyes and my uncle broke his balls about it so he finally let me see them. They boobed the guy's face, it was awesome. We were Gordon fans and my uncle was a huge Ricky Rudd guy. Never knew how hype the fans get when their guy drives by them, that's something that they don't really televise.

Had a HUGE case of deja-vu when I was next to Dover Downs last year in July for the Firefly Festival, crazy how that works.

My love for Nascar turned into horse racing and haven't looked back since.

My first was the '94 Coca Cola 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway. 4 things stood out to me at the time:

1. MUCH louder than I ever imagined it would be.
2. They drive incredibly fast.
3. They drive closer together than you can imagine.
4. I had never seen what 180,000 people in one place looked like. It's amazing.

It's just one of those sports that in person vs. on tv is completely different and has to be seen to believe.
