Could you imagine the outrage (most of it fake) if one of the talking heads talked as negative about Sam as the majority did about Tebow.
There's a popular sports online forum that went full on troll over his 40 yard dash.

Stephen A. Smith insinuated bigotry as to why he went in the 7th round.

So how do you explain A.J. McCarron? Douchebaggery?

The media is clown shoes.

brilliant marketing strategy.

you know the league wasn't gonna get the whole gay community mad at them. they watch football too.
the rams now will have new fans in every city. everyplace will be like home. In case you didn't know, they have plenty of cash to spend.

Unless the predictions of nearly every NFL team turn out to be correct and he's deemed too small and slow to make it and therefore gets cut.

Then the jerseys will be burned in the street and the boycott will commence. The Rams may now be in the not so envied position of being damned if they do and damned if they don't.

I hope he proves them all wrong and is able to regularly challenge the league's celebratory policy by blowing kisses to his boyfriend after many a sack.

Because he'll prove himself to be NFL caliber?

Or is it, he's not that good but still sells enough jerseys and tickets to make him economically valuable?

Or can't St. Louis cut him now for fear of the repercussions that would surely follow?

If he's not good enough and is cut, I pray to God that he comes out and says that's the reason.

I hope he surprises all of the media critics too, but he's essentially built to be a special teams type player and an occasional 3rd down back in the NFL. It's difficult to understand why anyone would have expected him to go higher than round 7 with all of the needs that most squads have. I was shocked that he got drafted at all.

As many have pointed out -All of the hype is built in by the media - how many other 7th rounders had a camera in their house, trained on them for minutes upon minutes until they kissed their significant other? The pandering is a bit over the top, even for a social liberal like myself.

What he has exhibited thus far (at least in the Combines) is that for his talents he will have a marginal impact for the Rams, and who, at the end of the day, may well get cut because he is too small and too slow to play defense in the NFL. Oh, and that also happens to be gay.

Big Deal. (God, I hope that doesn't make me a homophobe)

GPK takes major offense to the Jorts comment, apparently he has an entire closet filled with them. As far as Jersey goes, I'm probably the only guy in the state without a pair of them.
