Default Shameful

Wonder how many of these folks are not truly disabled? Also wonder how many within that group are outraged by government entitlement programs for the poor? Really sucks when a career path is faux disability.

Agreed. But then it also sucks when a career path is a faux job.

and they're still hiring.

I'd love to know why there is no differentiation made between how many of these disabilities come from 10 years of having body parts blown off of our kids in Afghanistan /Iraq /et. al?

They certainly do go out of their way to inform the reader that their research is "not funded by the govt." like NPR and PBS (OOOOHHH NOOOOS LIBTARDS). So apparently we need to assume that the data is compiled by a group that has an agenda against the current administration (SAY IT AIN'T SO!)

Amazing how the republitard right has the gall to lump in the millions of service connected disabilities in an attempt to make some kind of a point, when they were initially responsible for the carnage

The VA hospital in Tampa is 3 times the size it was when I moved here 10 years ago - and the original hospital is just spinal cord center now.

Can't go to war for 10+ years and ignore the consequences.

If you look at the chart this started moving up in the early 90's right when offshoring blue collar jobs became the rage and continued right on as white collar jobs got off shored. Add in the wars as you say and it looks like disability is our new growth industry.

no. been going on for centuries, here and elsewhere. indian agents when the removals went on, shoe and uniform contractors during the civil war...that's just here. other countries, it's the same way. you get a govt contract, and you're on easy street. and if you're disabled even partially, the odds just went up that you'll get a contract. look at the guy who claimed an 'army' injury, and he received it playing football. but he gets a 25% bump for that.
