Montreal Steak Spice

I got turned on to this from Leon's crabcake recipe, but now realize it's a great steak spice.

I wanted to know whether to add it before or after cooking, or both. It is a great spice. Anybody know ?

Getting ready to make the Leon crabcakes this year. If you haven't done it, do it. They are fantastic. As Leon says, it's worth it to buy the best crabmeat. Maryland, lump jumbo. I'm ok with NJ crabs, underrated.

But do get the best. It's not cheap, but worth it. Don't go cheap on the crab meat. It's better to have one good crabcake than 5 not-so-good ones.
