Default Any Derby possibles sans Lasix?

Just saw that the race with Cobalt Blue in it had the typical list of horses with Lasix which got me to thinking. Are any of the horses sniffing around the Derby trail running without it at this point? Seem like back in the day that the Derby was Smarty Jones' first start with the stuff but I could be wrong. They said they didn't wanna be the only one using it and then end up kicking themselves.

I've heard rumored pros and cons for it but what are reasonably assumed characteristics? As with many things it often isn't required but trainers don't want to be missing something that their competition has so they spread it around. I read a figure a year or two ago that 70% of horses running on Lasix don't need it. Anybody know if that's true?
