Default Santa Anita - Sat 2/24

Early pk4 looks very good, while the late pk4 looks like a mess...

1) Great race to start the day. #1 Red State Rules comes west from the Bluegrass state and lands in Puype's hands. Like her prior turf races and has been training well for her SoCal debut, and 12-1 to boot. #2 Sketch has improved each start back, and now the important 4th off the layoff. Her 1mile race two back was nice and the 1.25 was too far last time. This one is sitting on a big race, and again 12-1. #4 Thunder Goddess was hyped over the summer and comes back from a 6 month vaca, but her prior races were slow and while I am guessing she has ability I am going to let her beat me. #5 Badoutoo is the "other" Drysdale that is coming in off a maiden win. She will need pace to run at, and I think she will get it. 7-2 is not attractive but I will use our of fear rather then respect. #7 Branca Como Neve is the ML fav and looked very tough routing for the first time last out, and now Gomez hopes on board. Prob the winner. Adding #3 Lemon Flower as well in pk3's as he could be tough if he is capable of carrying his speed. Using 1,2,5,7,3 and keying 1,2 in pk3's

2) This race is tougher then I thought at first glance, X-factor is the pace scenario. #5 Luis's Especial could be lone speed, unless #3 Band of Thunder, Point Given firster, can gun it early, and based on the works in Jan it appears he does. I like the sneaky slow down of works prior to the race, this one could be live for the no name connections. Idaho Joe is the most probably winner, and probably have to use Island in the Sky with the drop down and addition of blinkers, that last work on Feb 17th says go time. Using 2,4,5 in pk 4 and subing in the 3 in pk3.

3) #2 Capt Sparrow BLEW UP his debut in a 40k claiming race first time out, breaking a bit slow, relaxing 5 back, and went 4 wide on the turn to win by 6 lengths. Cnak picks up the mount and looks to roll again BUT going from 6f to 8f in the second lifetime start is not easy and gives up alot of experience. Probably my Showvivor pick. #1 Bound to get even is the only one that might be able to upset based on having two route races in his belt and the last one wasnt too bad and Espinoza geared him down at the wire. Using #2 as the key, but will add #1 to pk3's.

4) Nasty MC$32k. #1 Wailea Girl has been close, but dont trust to single. #4 Legs Thatdontquit is the default backup horse based on sneaky connections (brother was first trainer, now in David Hofmans hands) but I just dont see it, nothing tells me this one is talented and ready. I liked the #7 Summer of Jade last Thursday (I think) when she was 20-1 ML and drew the rail, they scratched for this spot and she is now 5-1 ML. I think there is talent there, using. #8 Christiana's Heat is going to improve, but by how much? This one is half and a full to 2 stakes winner sprinters, and this is a weak field. Using 1, 7,8

1)1,2,5,7
2)2,4,5
3)2
4)1,7,8

1)1,2,3,5,7
2)2,3,4,5
3)1,2

1)1,2
2)2,3,4,5
3)2

1) ALL
2) 4
3) 2

2)2,3,4,5
3)2
4)1,7,8

3)2
4)1,7,8 (magna race)
5)1,3,4,8 (magna race)
