Default Yipee!!! Bucky Is Back!!!

I know some of you may not care, but some of the ladies do so I thought I would post because I am so happy.

My Bucky has been out of commission since before Halloween. The halloween horse show was the last thing we did together. He had two BAD abcesses in both front feet. One was about 2-2.5 inches long and it came out on his coronet band. Then about a week or so ago, he developed sand colic. BUT he is better now. Loves his metamucil.

I actually got to ride him this weekend. Just for long walks and about five minutes of trotting. Going to bring him back into work SLOWLY. He was very stiff going but he has been in a stall and TINY paddock for a month so he was happy to go out. He is now back into the HUGE 2.5 acre paddock he and his other horse friends share.

Most touching thing he did? I was getting my saddle out of my car and walking towards his stall. He saw me, opened his stall door (his owner forgot to back up clip it shut), he walked right out of his stall to the set of crossties, stood perfectly still, turned his head around and looked at me as if to say, "I am ready". (He could have EASILY run right out of the barn and headed for the grass to eat but he didn't) I had tears in my eyes as I told him "I have missed you too buddy." I don't think he liked me riding the other horses that his owner has.

So no shows for a while, but I am just happy to have him back. Going to do the shows in Wellington this year but they don't start until May so we have months to get him back into it.
