I think Rome did a good job addressing the issue on his TV show...true, he said nothing new to those of us who love this sport, particularly those who have actually worked on the backstretch, but more does need to be done to demonstrate the love horsepeople have for their horses and the lengths most of us go to protect them. Barbaro was a pretty damn good national example of what the people of horse racing and the fans generally feel about the horses, and how they treat them.

Perhaps a reminder. I did like that NBC grabbed Dr. Dean Richardson for his comments - he has been in the national eye, has stellar credibility with the general public regarding horse racing. He and Dr. Bramlage are both excellent faces.
