Default SARATOGA: Lake Placid Day

Another gorgeous day at the Spa and a significantly better day at the windows.. Exotic success returned as we scored a "triple triple", with the 2nd, 3rd and 7th trifectas available in the boxes.

The prices got better and better as the day progressed, with This Just In topping race two and a modest $68.50 tri ($2) and $16.80 exacta; 2nd choice August Song (11-1) boosted the 3rd race tri ($182.00) and $46.60 between Nerinx and Symmetron and 9-1 "B" selection Baymont's win in the 7th brought back the $305.00 tri and $88.50 ex with Square Dancing and Moorebella following... Longshot alert candidate KArakorum Ella wasn't the biggest bomb ever, but won the 5th at 8-1... Top pick Storm N Lightening aced the finale at 6-1... In one of the "ATRAB Races of the Day", #2 tab Wild Rex and "B" choice Chief Outsourcer combined for a $72.80 exacta...

The sidebar on the day was the availability of success in the $80,000 payoff on the P6... The $96 play had 4 of the sextet inside, with single Storm N Lightening getting it done. The 6th and 7th race winners were noted as spread candidates, and adventerous deep ticket players might have been smarter than me and included "Longshot Alert" runner Karakorum Ella for all the marbles! All in all a quality afternoon... Hope you did well...

Friday's card at Saratoga is stunningly weak with an uninspring hatful of maiden, claiming and state bred events... But there's only 35 of these days available around here, so we'll be playing! Alabama Day Saturday, traditionally one of our favorite events...
