![]() Without question - it's Jeff George.
In terms of throwing the deep ball - he makes Tom Brady look like Rick Ankiel in the NLCS in terms of accuracy. In terms of velocity few if any can match him. Not including his one year in Minny - His career record as a starter was 38-76 and he failed to win a single playoff game in 11 seasons. In Minny in '99 - he came off the bench and went 8-2 as a starter - and won a playoff game despite playing on a team who's defense gave up 5,600 yards and had a defense ranked 27th out of 31 in the NFL. In his playoff loss in Minny - He threw for 423 yard and 4 TD's and they scored 37 points on the road against a team that won the Super Bowl that year. Hard to fault a guy for a loss where he puts up 37 on the road against the eventual Super Bowl Champs. But Jeff George got shipped out of town after that game and was out of the league the following year after failing as the Redskins starter. Thanks to Youtube - you now get to see why Jeff George is the greatest QB I've ever seen play .... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A8wMwXz-5g4 About five of those throws are freaking amazing... all of those clips were from a 10 game span in '99. |
