The President does not have power under the Constitution to unilaterally authorize a military attack in a situation that does not involve stopping an actual or imminent threat to the nation.

I have absolutely no idea why Republicans aren't falling all over themselves in love with Obama. Especially looking at the last few months. If he wasn't half black - didn't have a 'D' next to his name - and didn't have a muslim sounding name - they'd love him. At least fellow chicken hawk Joe Lieberman wasn't a flaming hypocrite.
