Breeders Cup will not be going to New York

Thayer has stated that the BC will not consider Belmont as a host track until they get the bankruptcy thing settled out. Since they usually announce venues 2 years in advance, that means the Cup may not return to New York until 2010.

Personally, I think this is sad news. I like when the Cup is at Belmont. It is a great place for the horses and for people around the world.

Hopefully they (NYRA and State) gets things worked out so the Cup can go back to Belmont.
