Default Outlawing Contempt of Religions

Personally I think it's a fantastic idea and agree with the Muslim scholars on this one despite it involving the U.N. as the law keeper.

Quote:
In a statement released Tuesday, the union said there should be protection for "prophets" and urged Islamic countries to submit a draft law to the UN calling for defamation of religions to be outlawed.

The union said the UN should then issue a "law criminalising contempt of religions and the prophets and all the holy sites".

Hopefully this will gain some traction world wide and young impressionable Muslims prone to becoming radicalized would no longer have access to the underlying contempt of other religions as written in the Koran.

Passages like:

5:72 "“Infidels are they who say God is the Christ, son of Mary”

5:73 “Infidels are they who say God is one of three,”

9:30 “the Christians say the Christ is the son of God… may God’s curse be upon them!”

would all be outlawed by the UN law in fact the word 'infidel' would likely have to go. Fatwa's referencing religion would be outlawed. The persecution of those wanting to practice a religion other than Islam would cease. Churches would be built instead of destroyed. And any reference to the inhalation of Israel would no longer be legal or tolerated.

Religious leaders of all faiths around the world should embrace and expedite this law before the Muslim leaders figure out it would effect their religion far more than any other.

The small partial loss of freedom of speech, including the production of cartoons, videos etc. would most certainly be offset by eliminating the oppression and hatred written in the Koran and spoken and acted on by radicals.

Let's get er done!
