![]() In our first contest of our new season at Del Mar the Pickens were not exactly Slim (as a sidelight
I just watched an old western, Will Penny and Slim was in it). Three players showed a profit with Plenilune adding a tie. 6 tickets were cashed and as a group we just lost a little. Plen played Jump the Tracks in the 6th and the $4.00 mutuel returned her what she wagered but no profit. Cal takes the super slot with 2 exacta hits in race 8 paying $42 and $68, enough for a profitable day. And it paid more than $3 ! NJ Stinks started the season with a second place finish. NJS played all 7's in his array and fittingly the 7th race gave him his winning wager. While it was not quite Absolutely Perfect the $17.00 win payout was the best of the day. The winner this week picked a Kat horse and while it wasn't Ruffian it turned out a o K for Roamin.who so far is undefeated and untied this year. His win percentage is even better than his team the Saints. Hey Tom, it's a long way from when I met you at Monmouth and Saint fans were wearing paper bags on thier heads. Roamin when "all in" on Come On Kat in the 4th and got a sweet $350 back on his $7.00 winner. Congrats Roamin on the win. Nicely played. Following are the unofficial results pending any objections. See you all next week wherever the Cat ships us. WIN... Roamin... +$250.00... R 4 $100 WIN #7 $7.00 X 50... $350.00 PLACE... NJ Stinks... +$155.00... R 7: $30 to win #7 $17.00 X 15... $255.00 SHOW...
