How Do I get ride of a squirrel in my ceiling?

It could be a mouse or two, but its pissing me off. I can't sleep. Will a trap work for a squirrel? It could be two, don't even know if I want to go up there. And they seem move around into other parts of the ceiling in other rooms but only at night. Wish it was warm and they'd get the hell out.
