Even with Team pletcher and Doug Oneils strong barn of 3yr olds. It appears that Helen Pitts and Kaplan are the best trainers of 2 and young 3yr olds. They both take moderately priced colts and either win or put them in a position for the owners to get a large profit from there investmen in private sales for there stock. They are a prime example of how good evaluation and training can overcome the unlimited budget.
