Default Churchill Downs - Race 6 - 2-year-old STEAM

FYI...The sixth race at CD today looks like one of the better 2YO maiden races of the meet on paper....a lot of nice young horse flesh in there and I keep pretty good tabs on the babies here.

I really think Unbridled Express will win as the deserving favorite..he exits another nice maide heat where he was very green and ran in spots...he is a gorgeous Unbridleds Song colt and has immense talent...the race under his belt makes him a winner today and he has a bright future if they keep him sound...

As for first time starters, Passport is a talented colt and has had some very nice breezes in company, but he figures to take money based on his pedigree....BUT, another colt who has really been impressive in training that will be a solid price is Street Sense...this colt has some very good workouts in company with older horses and appears to be very talented...the problem is that his trainer is 0-for the century with firsters and this colt is a Street Cry, so he should be most effective going long......On paper, he is not that attractive of a betting interest and will easily be 10-1 or higher....

STEAM in my opinion is giving away information on a horse that you can't get in the Form or a program and good STEAM should always be a solid price because of the risk factor, and this colt will be 10-1 or higher...I hate STEAM that is 8/5 and then when it loses, you think to yourself "Why did I bet that horse at 8/5 because someone else told me he was Steam?"....That is the worst....never bet Steam that is a short price because you'll lose more than you'll win and that is a fact....

I will be keying Unbridled Express and playing Passport and Street Sense under him the most with a few others like Shipmate - who should close late and get a small peice of this, and Trust Your Luck - a Helen Pitts firster who has been semi-impressive in the mornings but not as mush as Street Sense or Passport as far as first time starters...Elite Squadron should obviously improve second out and needs to be used underneath too, and although Beta Capo is not one of Asmussen's better babies it is still an Ass-man 2YO so you know he will be the first out of the gates and needs to also be used in the minor spots of any exotics....

Again, Unbridled Express will be very tough in here as the favorite, but if anybody is looking to beat him with a longshot then you may want to consider the first-time starter Street Sense who should run very big in here at very generous odds...Good Luck!
