Default ATR Topic: Use of ADW phone account while at the track.

Why is this such an insane thing to do? I actually had done it for a long time (on my NYCOTB account until NYRA started their rewards program), and will now do it again after what I experienced at Belmont on Sunday (though it won't cost NYRA anything since it will be the NYRA account I will be betting on). First issue, the idiots that handicap the race at the betting machine. Are you kidding? Second issue, the people that look at the screen like it will choose the horses for you. Then, select a few horses, s l o w l y, only to clear the bet and start over. If you were lucky enough to reach the betting machine before post time, odds were the reader for your account card wasn't operating correctly and you had to go and find another machine.

So yes, you will see me betting on my phone account at the track, and it won't be because I don't have any more cash, as the caller suggested would be the only reason why someone would do this.

While I'm bitching about the so called operation over there at Belmont, who made the decision to turn the grill in the backyard of the grandstand into a hotdog stand? They used to sell burgers, sausage and peppers, chicken and fries, which could all be enjoyed in their "picnic area" and now all you can get is a greasy hot dog. What is wrong with these people?
