Even so that would be the sign of a sophisticcated burgler who would probably not bust into Taylors bedroom with guns blazing, therefore screwing up the heist. My inner detective says the guy was someone they knew, who had been there before and who had something owed to him or a grudge. Especially in light of a recent break in.
