Mayan King ... HOTY Postponed

To all devoted fans of Mayan King ... and I know there are legions of you out there ... sorry to say that the bad news is ...

... he has sustained another leg injury ... and will be away from the track for about two months.

So ... the march toward the 2006 Horse Of The Year Award has been postponed ... postponed ... but not ended. Yes ... he'll still receive a few scattered votes ... but it's unrealistic to expect the HOTY Award this year.

But ... as a kid on the streets of Brooklyn ... I learned very early on what our beautiful borough's famous slogan was ... "Wait'll Next Year!"

Yes ... wait'll next year ... Mayan King ... 2007 Horse Of The Year.
