Default 'Kill him'?

It's getting pretty disturbing and scary to watch McCain/Palin rallies. Since they've started harping on the Ayers thing, and now that they've mentioned Obama and 'terrorist' in the same sentence, the crazy racists (a significant section of the country) are all coming out of the closet and feeling legitimized. The McCain campaign doesn't seem to care, but I hope they realize how dangerous this is. I understand that they feel as though they have nothing left to throw at Obama, but is one final desperate ploy to win really worth putting your opponent in danger by egging on racist lunatics?

Don't necessarily hold back your attacks, but if you've got any sense of responsibility left, shouldn't you publicly denounce some of these sentiments expressed at your rallies, or at least kick out the people shouting 'kill him!' or yelling racial epithets at black cameramen? When do you begin to feel responsible for spraying gasoline on a controlled wildfire?
