Also, the only reason Reid said that it's on Jesse White, sec of IL, is that they brought up the race card with him when they didn't seat him.... that way Reid doesn't end up on Jesse Jackson's racist list and puts it on a black guy, so they can't use the race card with White. White's signature on it means that he, on behalf of IL doesn't endorse him. Means nothing to whether they seat Burris or not, which is totally up to the leaders of the house of congress he'd be in.

That won't hold up constitutionally unless something comes out that makes him unfit. Their only option is to seat him and then seek expulsion but that sets an extremely dangerous precedent that any party that ever achieved a 2/3rds majority in the Senate could expel all the members of the minority party and virtually assure their party dominates the Senate for years to come. To date the only expulsions from the Senate were for treason and for supporting the Confederate rebellion. To use expulsion in a minor case like this would set a dangerous precedent for abuse of power.
