Aaron Gryder and William Pike licensed to ride in Hong Kong

Due to a shortage of available jockeys for the final 4 racemeetings of the current racing season, the Club will license two further Club Jockeys in order to assist connections in their selection of riders for these racemeetings.

Accordingly, the Club will license American Jockey Aaron Gryder and Australian Jockey William Pike for the period 16 June 2009 until the conclusion of the current racing season. Aaron Gryder and William Pike's first racemeeting in Hong Kong is scheduled to be conducted at Sha Tin racecourse on Sunday, 21 June 2009.

It is anticipated that Jockey Gryder will arrive in Hong Kong on Wednesday, 17 June 2009. As such he will be permitted to commence riding track work on Thursday, 18 June 2009, subject to the usual formalities.


Jockey Pike is scheduled to arrive in Hong Kong on Monday, 15 June 2009. As such he will be permitted to commence riding track work on Tuesday, 16 June 2009, subject to the usual formalities.
