The issue is rarely the drug. Most of them used responsibly could make equine health more realistic. If your horse can benefit from a banned substance there needs to be a mechanism to have it prescribed and administered. Maybe like a vet meds list? If disclosure to the public is available, I see no reason to ban meds which can be used properly to benefit a horse. Even a drug like Winstrol that when abused is preformance enhancing needs to be available to horseman in qualified cases. Although I love listening to Dutrow from an entertainment point of view, when he does an interview and they ask him about Winstrol and he states "I don't know why I use it I give it to all of my horses once a month" it really doesn't come off well. lol
