SAT - CRC, WO stakes/PK4, & KEE late PK4
Calder Race Course POST SCRATCHES
R6 - Birdonthewire 75k (2yo 5.5F) #7 Peace At Dawn - Wolfson's runner debuted in June as the favorite going 4.5F and handled that group with ease earning a 81BSF in the process. By Peace Rules out of an Awesome Again mare. 3rd #3 SCR R7 - FS My Dear Girl $400k (2yo f 8.5F) #1 Joanie's Catch - Improved 30 BSF points when taking the Brave Raj at almost 12-1 in her 1st route race. 2nd #4 Winsockie - Coming off dominating grass win at a mile. #6 Sweetlalabye - She was all over the track in the Brave Raj, but I'm willing to give her another chance at better odds today. WON R8 - Calder Oaks 75k (Turf 9F) #3 Royal Card - Like Motovato (Which runs in the G3 Spend A Buck later in the card), this runner was with Todd Pletcher earlier in her career and has improved dramatically with the switch to the Wolfson barn. She tries the lawn for the 1st time, but that's the only question. #6 Providanza (Fr) - French filly was battling Group 3 company in her homeland and now makes her U.S. debut for the high % Clement barn. She should be ready to roll. #7 Chary - She looks like she finally figured it out after taking a while to break her maiden. WON #4 Fire Water - By far her best two races #'s wise have been on the lawn. Today's distance is the major obstacle. R9 - FS In Reality $400k (2yo 8.5F) #3 Thank U Phillipe - Gets Eddie Castro today after having some trouble with the clubhouse turn in the Foolish Pleasure. Made a middle move before finishing a tiring 4th as the chalk. 2nd #6 Jackson Bend - Trying to sweep the FS series, after starting career 4 for 5(>$237k). Beat the talented D'Funnybone in the Frank Gomez this summer. Makes 1st start around two turns. WON #4 Bim Bam - Nothing wrong with the way he won the Foolish Pleasure and must be considered here for all slots. 3rd R10 - G3 Calder Derby (Turf 9F) #3 Sal the Barber - Has been knocking heads with some of the division's best in NY and is 2 for 3 at the distance with a 2nd. I imagine a very popular single in most Big 4 tickets. WON #9 Proud Foolish - Makes 12th start of the year and is the type of runner that just keeps on coming. At 10-1 ML, I look for him to bring some value to the exacta. Big 4 - 1 4 6 / 3 4 6 7 / 3 4 6 / 3 = $18 for $.50 play PAID $71.95 for .50 cents R11 - G3 Spend A Buck #9 Motovato - Draw a line through that synthetic try at PID. He' 3 for 4 at CRC including back to back victories earning a 102 BSF. One of those races was the G3 Memorial Day Handicap this year. 2nd #2 Temo's Dream - Looks to bounce back after being DQ'd for the win in the Needles a few weeks ago. #3 Lady Shatzi - 4yo filly from Peru took her country's top race (G1 Classico Jockey Club del Peru) by 3.5 lgts. Shows a slow local work. Toss up. Woodbine POST SCRATCHES R8 - G2 Neartic (Turf 6F) #11 Jungle Wave - Had the lead turning for home in the G1 Woodbine Mile and finished a respectable 4th. Should appreciate the cut back. 3rd #1 Field Commission - Probably out classed a bit in WO Mile, but fits well here under Leparoux. Best strides will come late. WON #7 Chamberlain Bridge - Has won half his races (22/11 wins). This will be his 9th different track in a row. Must respect his chances. #3 Grand Adventure - Lighty raced 3yo is 3 for 4 on this lawn, which includes the G3 Summer as a 2yo. Don't overlook. R9 - G1 EP Taylor (Turf 10F) #8 Salve Germania (Ire) - Acted up before the G2 Ballston Spa and still managed to run them all down late with a devastating turn of foot. Now in the red hot Pletcher barn. #2 Rainbow View - Two time Group 1 winner comes across the pond with some high expectations. 2nd #1 Treat Gently (GB) - Juddmonte homebred won her only start this year after displaying some serious talent as a 3yo. 3rd #6 Look Here (GB) - 2nd versus the boys in the Group 3 Arc Trial in latest. Looking for 1st win this year. R10 - G1 Canadian International (Turf 12F) #6 Buccellati (GB) - 2 time Group 3 winner in Europe has had a couple of excuses in last two versus top flight competition. Blinkers come on and 1st time lasix. 3rd #1 Champs Elysees (GB) - Grade 1 winner on turf and synthetic. Was cut off when trying to defend his G1 Northern Dancer last month. Should be right there again. WON #7 Jukebox Jury (Ire) - Grey 3yo has won 3 of last 4 including a Group 1 in most recent. Brings jock with him. Connections mean business. 2nd #4 Just As Well - He's in career form and should be rolling late. PK3 - 1 3 7 9 11 / 2 8 / 1 4 6 7 = $40 R11 - Ont Breds MSW 60k #5 Simply Bold - Adds a new jock for his 8th start after firing a bullet on 10/9. WON #6 Dr. Grgurich - Gets high % jock, 1st time lasix, and turns back to a sprint. Playable at huge odds (30-1 ML). #10 Whers the Juice - Slight improvement and he's right in the mix. 3rd #9 Trail Bay - 1st time starter attracts top jock and shows a long string of works. PK4 - 1 3 7 11 / 1 2 6 8 / 6 / 5 6 10 = $48 PK4 - 11 / 1 2 6 8 / 1 4 6 7 / 5 = $16 Keeneland POST SCRATCHES R7 - G3 Perryville #5 Evolutionist 4th #3 Warrior's Reward #1 El Brujo WON #7 His Greatness R8 - MSW 50k (2yo f 7F) #3 Lyrique #1 Catus Cadillac 2nd #7 Star Recruit 3rd #10 Elarose R9 - G1 QE II Cup (Turf 9F) #2 Miss World 4th #4 Gozzip Girl #6 Lady Shakespeare #3 Hot Cha Cha WON R10 - MSW 50k #11 Cross the Divide #1 Darley Entry WON #2 Captiva Pass #6 Wild Entry (Jpn) PK4 - 1 3 5 6 7 / 1 3 7 / 2 4 / 1 2 11 = $45 for a $.50 play Good Racing Luck
