Default Rand Paul, intolerant loser

I have been trying to find something to like about Rand Paul, Libertarian candidate for Senate (under the GOP flag) in Kentucky. He articulates his thoughts clearly, he's obviously intelligent (I don't view intelligence or lots of education as a negative, unlike some others on the right), he has well-thought out, definitive positions.

Sigh.

But in making his case, in the most recent debate, for completely eliminating the Department of Education (I disagree with that in a blanket sense) he uses gay-bashing intolerance as his justification.

Yeah, I imagine he was really trying to say that federal programs shouldn't determine curriculae on a local level, but he's smart enough, he should have actually said that. Not revealed his homophobia.

Sorry Rand - no vote for you. Period. You're done. You're an intolerant loser.

Hello Senator Conway (who owns race horses and supports that industry)

Quote:
In arguing for why the U.S. Department of Education is unnecessary and should be abolished on Thursday, Kentucky Republican Senate candidate Rand Paul cited concerns he has about the issue of gay marriage to make his case.

"I would rather have the local school districts decide things," explained Paul at a debate against Democratic rival Jack Conway in the Bluegrass State. "I don't like the idea of Suzie has two mommies being an appropriate family situation to talk about to kindergartners. That's what happens when it gets to the federal level."
