![]() In my opinion it's the Mosses! I hope they are awarded 2010 owner of the year at the eclipse awards. They do so much for the industry and this would be the perfect year to award them!
I feel they set such a good example for other owners to follow. They always have their horses best interest in mind. For example, they did right by Zenyatta by not rushing her to the Races but allowing her to grow into herself. They showed others that you shouldn't retire horses when they still want to run! They could have retired Zenyatta last year but they didn't! And what a difference that extra year made! Her popularity reached new heights and she brought so many new fans to the game! The Mosses were so wonderful about letting people have access to their superstar mare too! Allowing fans at Hollywood Park to pet her if they came to the backstretch. Having a great horse brings people to racing but I feel that the horses owners were also a big part of Zenyatta's appeal. When I went to Kentucky I found out that The Mosses donate constantly to Old Friends, which most people don't know! They spare no cost in rescuing one of their horses if it breaks down. And they take care of all of their horses making sure they all find a place to live out their days. They were at the center of the game this year and they were such great spokesman for horse racing. They deserve to be honored. |
