Be Mine
This is for the posters who have children. (I mean moreso anyway...).
I've done this with my kids... If they're going to be writing out Valentines this year it can be a nice thing to get the address of any thoroughbred retirement place or hospital... any charity and give them a few dollars and an oversized envelope so they can write out a Valentine and send a small donation. Here's an example (and what reminded me)... Many of the horses who come into Double ’s program are in need of rehabilitation, and the only way the facility can continue to help them is to rely on others for financial aid. Double L has no paid staff and operates as a not-for-profit organization. “We are asking the folks who can to send a Valentine card to the horses here at the stable and include a single dollar bill inside,” said Hahn, who has hosted similar fundraisers in the past. Cards should be sent to: The Horses Double L Stable Equine Rescue and Sanctuary 9 Tilford Rd. Argyle, NY 12809 http://cs.bloodhorse.com/blogs/beyon...-of-quest.aspx Any place will happily accept a card and a small donation and your kids will feel really good about helping the horses. |
