Default Ernie Munick part of latest NYRA Network production!

http://www.nyra.com/aqueduct/stories/Feb112011b.shtml

The funny and animated Ernie Munick is the latest addition to the NYRA Communications Team, and will join Andy, Mig and John Imbriale on new Dark Day telecasts on Channel 71 in NY. The show will fill the airwaves when NYRA isn't running, and has the potential to be great fun with that mix-and-match lineup and zany Mitch Levites directing the action!

Press Release:

NYRA NETWORK INTRODUCES DARK DAY SHOW

OZONE PARK, N.Y. – The New York Racing Association, Inc. (NYRA) will begin airing a new dark day television show, “The NYRA Network Presents Raceday,” starting Monday, February 14, on the NYRA Network, channel 71 on Time Warner’s basic cable system. Hosts for the show will include NYRA TV Director and Racecaller John Imbriale, along with NYRA TV Analysts Richard Migliore, Ernie Munick and Andy Serling, among others. Mitch Levites will serve as the program’s director.

“Raceday” will air from noon – 6 p.m. on NYRA’s non-live racing days (usually Mondays and Tuesdays), and will spotlight simulcast racing from around the country. The first show will be hosted by Munick and Serling. Munick’s NYRA Network debut will mark his first public handicapping appearance in more than two decades. From 1986 to 1989, he was one of the leading handicappers in the country, selecting winners at a high clip for the New York Daily News, where he also wrote a daily racing column and filed graded entries, including his own morning line.

For the last 20 years, Munick has worked as a writing teacher, editor, dog-walker and musician, but he never lost touch with the game, performing blues/rock and talking horses at racetracks along the East coast. For the last two years, he has been the official vlogger for the Breeders' Cup World Championships. In 2010, he was an official blogger on BelmontStakes.com.

Late last year, NYRA reached an agreement with New York City to provide content for channel 71, which had previously carried the NYCOTB Racing Network. The channel, now known as the NYRA Network, shows racing content from approximately 11 a.m. – 11 p.m. After the conclusion of NYRA’s live races, the channel highlights select simulcast signals from tracks around the country, with coverage usually extending to the end of the card at Yonkers Raceway.
