A look at D'Accord on his 32nd "birthday"

Sure TBs have their official birthday on January 1st, but try telling that to D'Accord. He kinda likes to celebrate his real one. This son of Secretariat is the most adorable 32yo TB you're gonna see. He comes from a pretty nice family as a full brother to Medaille D'Or and the dam of Holy Roman Emperor, L'On Vite. This FB photo album has a great shot of Barbara Livingston and Sue Rosenbach in the midst of a photo shoot of this elder statesman.

I found this on Pedigree Query when I looked up his dam:

In June 1977, Fanfreluche was stolen from her paddock at Claiborne Farm. A family in rural Tompkinsville, KY (150 miles away), found her wandering by the road and took her in. She spent five months as a family pet named 'Brandy' until the FBI found her. Returned to Claiborne the night of Dec. 8, the following spring delivered a Secretariat foal, Sain Et Sauf - 'Safe And Sound'.

Pretty crazy. If they'd never found her, that family would've ended up with a Secretariat foal hanging out in their backyard. This is a Walter Farley book just waiting to happen.
