![]() I've said this before and I mean it... horse players are some of the most charitable people I know. Some of the ones who seem so gruff, so dour? Well some of them are generous beyond belief. They just like playing a role or something... who knows why.
Some people love any holiday and some only certain ones. Some expect / give flowers and candy, jewelry, a night out. Whatever it is you do have a nice time doing just that BUT if you'd like to do something extra or differnt? Have your kids write out a card and give them some cash to enclose. Make a donation online. Do both. Do it in someones name or in the name of a horse that you were a fan of or who helped to give you a memorable day. Please consider giving to any charity, retirement place, laminitis research organiztion. Even the smallest amount is appreciated. For anyone who never has before please consider doing it this one time. I promise you you'll feel so good about doing it it will carry over into the rest of the day and saturate it with a kind of positive energy. Oh and for the record? Giving is like buying flowers for someone. You shouldn't just do it because it's whatever special, silly or stupid (depending on your perspective) Hallmark-made day... you should do it on random days whenever the mood strikes. ![]() http://www.trfinc.org/Valentines-Day-c87.html http://www.angelacreshorsehavenrescu...rse-drive.html http://cs.bloodhorse.com/blogs/beyon...ht-xantra.aspx Feel free to list any special Valentines charity events I've left out or any links you think appropriate. |
