We believe the worst of the emaciation is over and have not lost any horses for the last couple of weeks. 2 of the 4 I was caring for did succumb to starvation, it was just irreversible. However the surviving 2 were re-united with their herd about a week and 1/2 ago. There was great joy in the herd, galloping in the pasture, something we had never seen from these horses. They are still at pretty significant risk for the next 5 to 6 months, and the rain rot on these poor horses was just abysmal. But their prognosis becomes brighter every week.
FG Fan, it's so wonderful you're there to help out.

God bless all of those horses and if you see that little one please give her a hug from all of us. I've never seen such a little cutie-pie. I'll say a prayer for her and her mom every day along with the others.
