![]() The All Stakes ROI Contest provided some big numbers and as a group a profit was recorded after
a dismal effort last week at Gulfstream. Only four winning wagers were recorded but they were all good for at least $150 and all four ROI slots were filled. Swedejxn takes fourth place with a nice trifecta box in race 10 at Kee which returned $153. Real Quiet gets third with a 20 cent superfecta in the same race which returned to him $304 with Zulu running out. By a nose Criminal Type nails Real Quiet on the wire by 48 cents. Criminal Type had the only Aqueduct winner when he played Trojan Nation in the Wood and he was rewarded a $40.60 place payout. Criminal Type definitely saw the right horse and played him well. The win by daylight goes to Ruffian who played Weep No More in the 6th at Keenland and got back a winning payout of $62.20 for each deuce. Ruffian doth protest but she really loves those 5 horse stakes fields. Congrats to Ruffian on the win and to Criminal Type for finding a maiden gem. Following are the unofficial results pending any errors. See you all next week wherever El Prado ships us. WIN... Ruffian... +$677.50... KEE R 6 #1 $25 WIN $62.20 X 12.5... $777.50 PLACE... By the way, I made the mistake of counting my trifecta as a sure winner at the quarter pole of the Ashland - it seemed to just be a question of which order and how much. I haven't gone back to look at the internal fractions, but Weep No More seemed to be going twice as fast as everyone else coming down the stretch. And those were high quality stakes horses that she ran down. Very impressive performance. |

![]() Subtlety is not my forte. If it came across as critical it was not my intention. Race calling is tougher than tough.

![]() You didn't come across as critical. I just saw that it could be read in two different ways, and one of them fit the situation where the race caller didn't see the right horse. I'm willing to give him a mulligan - he doesn't miss much.
