Saratoga Sunday July 23rd
Race 1:
#3 You People: Bred for turf top and bottom. Mott has won here with 2yo FTS in the last couple of years. #5 Miss Mo Mentum: Copped a rough check after settling nicely on debut. Casse clips at over 30% with non-debuting maiden 2yo fillies trying the grass and a route for the first time. #9 Road of Honor: McPeek hits at a sneaky good clip with these types but usually in different situations. #7 Sweet Bye and Bye: Bred to turf and gets Irad. #11 draws in but Ward only 1 for 24 with 2yo non-debuting turf routers at SAR. Race 2: #4 Top Fortitude: Hasn't been winning but has best #s and only missed by a nose in March. #3 Chubby Master: Last race makes him very competitive. Ran well enough at SAR last year. #8 We Did #6 Monte Man Race 3: #5 Uncle Mojo: Dam a classy router in the Pacific Northwest and this one has already run second at 8.5f. #2 Mr Classical: Brown has won with runners going 9f in their second start but all 3 winners debuted at 8f (2x dirt) or 8.5f (turf). #3 Weather Wiz: Solid enough debut and first time Lasix but again it's tough to go first route at a two-turn 9f in their second start. #6 Archival: Really geared up in the mornings for this. Race 4: #10 Rapid Red: Has been facing weaker but the pace here looks hot and at least he has shown he is consistent and can pass horses. #7 Bellow: Does need a career best by far but with the expected pace it might happen. #2 Phi Beta Express #3 Main Road Race 5: #1 Thebigfundamental: Can't fault anything he's done so far and might get left loping alone up front. #7 Doyouknowsomething: Take away his slop and marathon tries and his form more than fits. #3 Securitiz: Should improve second off an extended layoff but had his chances here last year. #2 Royal Posse: Loves the course, loves the distance, but just hasn't been on his game this season and is now in for a tag. I like #5 also as an exotics add... Race 6: #9 War Canoe: Finally gets a little bit of rest between races. #10 Cap's Vow: Never off the board in 7 tries at this distance. #3 Weekend Hottie: Finally got the job done in her 21st start, but maybe she simply needed the barn change. #4 Patience Love: Steady improver throughout her short career. #6 Short Kakes: 3yo has proven to be capable routing and I think Franco can hold her together better than Santana did two back. Lone speed on paper. #7 also hard to leave out... Race 7: #9 Kissin Cassie: Won at SAR on debut and if you ignore the mud/sloppy/turf tries her form really isn't that bad. Should get a nice stalking trip and 20-1 ML is juicy. #6 Nisha: Rivelli brings them to the Spa well meant. Could be the speed of the speed. #11 Tainted Angel: Already a four-time winner, including one in near identical conditions last out, and has shown she can handle the surface. #10 Luna Rising: Best races have come on the front end, but did show a few starts ago she could fight at least a little bit in traffic. Race 8: #7 Sweet August Lady: Much improved on the turf and has a strong chance to repeat. #8 Puparee: Started the year in FL in an ice-cold barn. Nailed at the wire when first coming to NY and not disgraced in next two starts sprinting. Got too far back from post 12 under the bug last out. Conditions more suitable for an upset this time around. #5 Alabama Bound: Took them all the way here last year and it's plausible that can happen again. #11 Somerset Sandy Race 9: #3 Animal Appeal: Dangerous on the front-end and is the one to run down. #7 Nite Delite: Last two wins have come when back within a few weeks #10 Rumble Doll: This is her course and distance but hasn't won in two years. #11 Sunnysalmi Race 10: #2 Abel Tasman: The one to beat, but would have said that yesterday about Arrogate... #7 Salty: The main danger. Owner has two others in here so one may be a rabbit. #1 Elate: May coast along up front if others don't fire early. #3 Daddy's Lil Darling Race 11: #12 Major Force: Closed strongly on debut and had a bit of a rough trip in the slop last time. Should relish the grass and expecting a big performance. #11 Prognostication: Returned from a long layoff with a solid second. Slight layoff since but owwners like to win at SAR so could have been saved until now. #8 Cookie Crisp: Last was good enough to be competitive here. #10 Starstruck Kitten: Gelded since his last and has a chance as well. #4 and #5 are bombs I'll include underneath but I also want to be alive to them in the last so I'll spend a bit extra in the late P4 to add them. $0.60 Pick Five Race 1: 3, 5 Race 2: 3, 4 Race 3: 2, 3, 5 Race 4: 2, 3, 7, 10 Race 5: 1, 3, 7 $86.40 $0.60 Early Pick Four Race 2: 3, 4, 8 Race 3: 2, 3, 5 Race 4: 2, 3, 7, 10 Race 5: 1, 2, 3, 7 $86.40 $0.60 Late Pick Four Race 8: 5, 7, 8 Race 9: 3, 5, 7, 8, 10, 11 Race 10: 2, 7 Race 11: 4, 5, 8, 10, 11, 12 $129.60 Good luck! |
